The Bay Creating Their Maui And The Fish Art

     This week we have learnt the legend about Maui and the Fish, and Maui had magical powers, but his brothers were jealous. They sneakily went fishing without Maui, but he was clever and he hid in their waka. They rowed a very long way out from the land. Maui threw his magic hook into the ocean and when he reeled it in, he had caught hold of a whare. The whare was attached to the land that Maui pulled up from the ocean. It looked like an enormous stingray coming out of the water, but it wasn't... it was the North Island.

The Bay Had Fun Making Their Creations

What an exciting time we had planning, gathering, making, eating and creating and EATING!

It was a lot of fun using bits and bobs of fruit and vegetables

 and sharing and helping each other to make awesome creations.

Thank you so much to our super helpers who cut and poked sharp things

 into our creations to hold them together.

The real fun will be eating them, 

but some of us couldn't wait until we got home...

 we munched them up at school!
